The Tassel is the only performing arts center in Nebraska between Lincoln and Denver. Dance, theatre, and music ensembles play The Tassel making the theater an integral part of Nebraska's cultural life.

Located in Holdrege, surrounded by abundant parking facilities, The Tassel is used by corporations, promoters, civic and community organizations, and schools for educational events, special performances, receptions, monthly and annual meetings, seminars and other business functions. The Tassel's Executive Director and team will work with your staff to maximize the potential of any special function.

The Tassel offers three different areas available for rent individually or at once--the lobby, theatre, and the green room--each with its own capabilities.

The Tassel provides over 800 seats on two levels with excellent visibility from all locations.

There isn't a bad seat in the house!

The box office is full-service and staffed by volunteers. The Tassel lobby is the site of many post-show receptions and casual parties. This charming space can accommodate up to 150 for conferences, meetings, holiday parties, and receptions.

The hub of activity during performances, this convenient space can accommodate up to 50 for seminars or meetings.

Additional Space Available with Special Arrangements

 

In addition to these options, the Holdrege Senior High and Middle Schools nearby may be made available for potential breakout rooms or additional space via special arrangements. Consider holding your festival or major event at The Tassel, conveniently located near the Holdrege North Park! With so many options, it is clear to see that The Tassel is suitable for many events, small or large!

    Renting

     

    All inquiries regarding the booking of an event at The Tassel are welcome! In order to book an event, renting groups may fill out the Rental Application Form available on this site and submit it along with the required deposit to the Executive Director at The Tassel.

    Groups may rent the facility and any equipment or furniture available. It is the policy of the Tassel Coordination Council that renting groups or individuals may supply only equipment or furniture that is required for production or cannot be supplied by The Tassel. Renting groups or individuals shall supply all perishable items for production or events. Unless otherwise arranged, the renting group or individual shall be responsible for all expenses related to the event, including production (technicians, equipment, furniture, etc.), advertising, hospitality, and transportation. All subsequent charges are due at the end of the performance, or within 14 days of the event, provided the group has made appropriate arrangements.

    All groups using The Tassel are required to abide by the guidelines set forth in the Rental Handbook as applied to the event. It is suggested that groups or individuals contact The Tassel as far in advance as possible for the best availability.


    Events Hosted By The Tassel

     

    The Executive Director's responsibilities include increasing opportunities for the community to enjoy educational and entertaining events. The Executive Director, with the assistance of the council, will occasionally offer seminars to the community and book professional artists to perform or display their art at The Tassel. Artists are welcome to use the Professional Contract available on this site and submit it to the Executive Director in order to book the Tassel for an event.
