The Mission of the Tassel Coordination Council is to expand awareness and appreciation of the arts by providing opportunities to experience quality cultural, educational, social, and entertaining events.

The Tassel is located on Holdrege Public Schools property and is an integral part of the arts program for the schools. Studies held by the National Endowment for the Arts show that arts programs enhance students' academic skills and character education, help to cultivate aesthetic decision-making, and encourage a lifelong appreciation for the arts. Through increased opportunities such as a variety of education and outreach programs, new works and special projects designed for participation, lifelong learning, and programs that bring artists and audiences together beyond the stage, the Tassel Coordination Council will share the positive influence of the visual and performing arts with the students and people of Phelps County, Nebraska, and beyond.
